MODS FAQ
“We help pastors discover genius by modalities” – Life Impact Coaching, Singapore
Question: In general, what is “coaching” or “life coaching”?
Life Impact Coaching: I think life coaching gets you from point A to point B, especially when you need to get unstuck or fall into a rut. In general, coaching is an important part of what we do but there’s another part that is lost in translation in most cases when the Bible has been left out of the equation, for example the use of psychometric testing that has no basis in scripture eg Meyer’s Briggs, DISC etc
Question: What do you do in MODS?
Life Impact Coaching: We uncover the biblical archetypes and work from a template derived from Moses to Jesus to Paul. So our starting point is entirely different from secular coaching or mentorship. Traditionally, you start with where you want to go, then try to figure out (with the help of a coach) how to get there, by which route navigating obstacles along the way.

But in MODS, our starting point are the biblical archetypes that are innate in human society and entirely observable – not only detectable but also predictable. This means you don’t have to guess what is your modalities but we show you ways to access this information through self-discovery leading to greater self-awareness of your defaults (not faults) – “what makes you tick, and what ticks you off”.
Question: What is inner healing and how does it differ?
Life Impact Coaching: For inner healing, the soul is damaged and traumatised. So Jesus restores the foundations that require fixing through the power of the Holy Spirit. The therapies employed might be through visualisation under the anointing of the hallelujah spirit of supernatural word of knowledge or wisdom, etc
Incidentally, in modalities we are not dealing with the gifts of the Spirit but rather the gift of Abba Father given to every person, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. Nationality is where you live, but modality is why you matter.
Question: What’s the difference between the Spirit gifts (plural) and the Father’s gift (singular)?
Life Impact Coaching: Aha, in the case of the Father’s gift (singular) you can’t switch it off. You can switch off the gifts of the Spirit (“spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet”) but you can’t switch off modal excellence. The Father’s gift is not something that is received like water or spirit baptism. The gift of the Father is your birthright.
Question: Tell us more about our birthright gift then?
Life Impact Coaching : The Father’s gift is something that innate in your responses no matter how tired you will always act according to your modality. Its not something you can switch on or off rather it is something you are born with – your “wiring” as they say. It is the way you have been hard wired in creation to see the world in a certain light – pre-installed drivers that animate behaviour and therefore is entirely predictable.
Question: How can we predict how a man will act before he acts?
Life Impact Coaching: That’s why we’ve developed the human periodic table. Its based on the revelation in Romans 12: 6-8 but its found all over the bible that speaks to elemental human genius as God has designed it into creation. This is part of our heartware of humanity regardless of race, religion, nationality, class, ethnicity, gender, etc. These are called sovereign foundations because they are pre-installed like software in a computer. What you see on your computer screen doesn’t just magically appear, they were programmed into the source codes of a person’s psyche, or soul.

Question: Did you develop this system yourself?
Life Impact Coaching: I was on scholarship for a corporate course conducted by Talent Research Foundation back in 2017. I received a grant to study productivity as part of a bursary I received to up my game. My mentors were John Samuel and Skip Moen who had written on the topic of productivity zones. I didn’t have the $3.8k USD to pay for the course so was grateful for the scholarship from Goshen International Ministries that allowed me to access the courseware in terms of my own knowledge of biblical literature, church history and New Testament greek.
All this co-incided with my retirement plans. I had already been in the senior pastor’s office since the founding of our church and my wife Lianne and I were ready to take on the challenge of raising up future pastors to reach Asia which was why we set up Life Impact Coaching that has now reached over 850 leaders and over 300 pastors ordained for the non-levitical ministry.
Question: What is your next move?
Life Impact Coaching: We need to equip missionaries, full-time workers and senior pastors with this information and it is our present burden to nations where English is spoken and understood. This is the reason why the Philippines is so important to our talent capital research with over 110 million souls.
Question: What makes you hopeful?
Life Impact Coaching: Our Geylang base at Lorong 3. God has given us some space for bedrooms, kitchen, library, worship, etc so this is how we can connect, share and inspire pastors and leaders from other nations who are willing to fly into Singapore. Our ministry partners too play an important role in actively seeking out pastors from the surrounding nations – Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, China, India, Sri Lanka, Burma, etc.
Question : What is the cost of MODS at your Singapore base?
Life Impact Coaching: Each student we host, because we don’t charge anything for the training for pastors, missionaries and full-time workers, costs us $330 per pastors x 14 days full board. The concept of residential base-style learning suits us well since the first week comprises of 4 separate self-organised learning environments followed by one-on-one diagnostics during the second week.
Question : How long is the courseware?
Life Impact Coaching: All in, it takes about 14 days full-time to orientate a group of 15 to 20 adult learners one cohort at a time. And because these are all pastors and leaders on the front-lines of christian service, our Geylang base is the perfect setting for that too as our local church is deeply entrenched in outreach to the street communities around the red-light areas under the shadow of our oversight and prayer.
Question: Why should pastors be interested to do MODS with you in Singapore?
Life Impact Coaching: Modalities is a way at looking at the big questions in life – Who am I? Why am I here on earth? How can I make an impact in the world? This is talent diagnostics. Let me break this down for you. “Who am I”. In MODS we travel back down memory lane and take a look at childhood trauma and look for patterns of abuse that often mask elemental gifting. If a woman has been raped or sold into prostitution, obvious this is going to cast a long shadow. We deal with trauma and rescue the soul out for these sorts of negatives impacts.
Next, “Why am I here”. In MODS, we train you to understand destiny in terms of life impact, like a coach might to to a track and field athlete. These things are measurable and the metrics don’t lie.. For example, most pastors are not aware that they can use MODS to speak to their business communities. We train our pastors to know how to work with donors and potential sponsors to help bolster and buttress the local church program. We are not starting a new church but we are coming alongside to scaffold exisiting kingdom projects and to help pastors when they get stuck or want to break glass ceilings with a fresh approach.
Finally, “How can I make an impact?” For pastors this the holy grail of a minister’s life. Like every other professional, there are metrics or KPI’s that must be observed, can be measured and should be examined during staff meetings and other stakeholder meetings. But the overarching feeling of most pastors is one of being overwhelmed by the needs and concerns in the church and if that church is planted in Asia, then it can be easy to get discouraged. This is where MODS comes into the picture, as a goad to productivity and an inspiration to younger or junior ministers. This is what we do: “We help pastors discover genius through modalities”.
