The process of moving from one stage/season to another is termed, “Transitioning”. When that time comes, (Luke 9:51) be like Jesus who “steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem’, even though there was intense suffering ahead. Set your heart to go through the process of transitioning so that we can fulfil what the Lord wants of us.
Transitioning is the process of change. A vulnerable and uneasy journey into the unknown. Paul is an example of transitioning. He was like Elijah (James 5:17), a man who fell but God raised him up to impact the world. In Jesus Christ, we have an example of one who surrendered completely to God’s will, suffered, died and was resurrected by God so that the world can be redeemed (John 3:16,17).
The 4 elements of Transitioning
1. Endings are the beginning of the transition process. Gal 1:16, 17 – Don’t look to worldly counsel; be wise to seek the Lord in solitude. Don’t dwell in the past. Start in the New. Jesus brings the future into the present to edify us.
2. Do not use the same script over and over again. Seek God for what really is best for you.
3. Unpack your baggage to begin a new journey. Chuck out the old stuff. Start with clean clothes. Receive only from God. (Gal 1:10-24) Be yourself. CHANGE = Constantly Having A New Growing Experience. Be ready and willing to change.
4. Endings must be properly negotiated. Jesus is looking for new wineskins for His new wine. To be able to expand to accommodate the fermenting new wine and not break the old skin
