Prof Thio Li-ann’s Resisting the Spirit and Man of Lawlessness – Ezer Kenegdo

What does it mean to be a child of God? What rights, privileges, immunities and duties does one acquire in entering into covenantal relationship with God? How did we Gentiles get to enter this covenant? Are there degrees of intimacy with Christ? (Romans 8:13-17; 1 Thess 5:5; Ephesians 2; Ephesians 3:6; Galatians 3). Are there degrees of fruitfulness, in relation to how we lived our lives and whether we discharged our call and realised our destiny? (Matt 13:8; 1 Cor 13:12)

  1. What is lawlessness? What is the fate of the lawless? How will lawlessness affect people in general? (1 John 3:14; Matt 13:40-42; Matt 23:28; Matt 24:12 and 2 Thess 2 – read the Common Jewish Bible version especially, available online at Biblegateway.com))

  2. When you become a Christian disciple, Romans 12: 2 speaks of the transformation of the mind. What does that entail? Can you recall struggling with any biblical norm? Consider: Colossians 2:8, Proverbs 3:5-6 and 1 Cor 18:31. What is evidence of a reprobate mind? (Romans 1:28 KJV)

“Articulate, honest, direct – Prof Thio will speak to your core and kickstart (hopefully) what will be a meaningful introspective journey of self-reflection about your relationship with God, and your responsibilities vis-a-vis a citizen of Singapore and a follower of Christ. I will highly recommend everyone to join this course! It is a rare opportunity to hear from someone as anointed as Prof Thio for three full hours (and if you are lucky it might run past 3 hours!) It is also the perfect Friday evening fellowship activity with your family. 10/10 would recommend” – Joyce Ang, participant

“If the whole body where an Eye, where would your sense of Hearing be?” (1 Cor 12:17)

The Oikos Fellowship is pleased to extend our Church’s highest honours to Prof Dr Thio Li-ann, Parliamentarian and NUS Professor of Law in her distinguished role in the Chair of Pauline Studies under DAVT Ordination*. The Bishop’s Charge will be delivered by Rev Dr Michael Wieteska remotely via Zoom from Cairns, Australia followed by a Purim message by Rev Meno Kalisher from Jerusalem Assembly in Israel.

God’s credentials are based on an entirely different system of accreditation from that of the university, rooted in who you are rather than your function in church, nation or society.

Every soul is ordained for uniqueness and every community can bless God and flourish is why the leadership ministry has been established to help people outside the church appreciate those who have reached autonomy, mastery and purpose in a life well-lived.
