PERMISSION GRANTED

It’s a new day for the Churches in Visayas from Iloilo to Bacolod, from Panay, Negros to Leyte and Samar among the oceanside poor in these communities. He has opened our eyes, unlocked the future, paved the way for kingdom advance among the Illongo, Cebuano and Waray-speaking peoples. Permission has been granted.

Permission was grantedto be born, and to die.Permission was grantedto plant and to uproot what was planted.Permission was grantedto kill and to heal.Permission was grantedto wreck, and to build again.Permission was grantedto weep and then to laugh.Permission was grantedto mourn and to dance.Permission was grantedto scatter stones and to gather them.Permission was grantedto embrace and to distance oneself.Permission was grantedto search and give up searching.Permission was grantedto keep the land and to throw it away.Permission was grantedto break the family, then mend what was broken.Permission was grantedto mourn in silence and to speak again even when no one is listening.Permission was grantedto love life and also to hate it.Permission was grantedto war against poverty and to live in peace.

PERMISSION GRANTED – a poem based on a passage in Ecclesiastes by Solomon reflecting on the survivors left behind, the times in which we are living and the present-day history these survivors are inadvertently and unwittingly making.
