Ideyesta 2019 (Dumangas)

We have covered all our commitments to the Pastor’s kids under OATH (all 13 full scholarships) and added dozens more partial scholarships in the various Visayan locations affected by superstorm Yolanda 5 years ago where our Associates are active.

Culminating in an Ideyesta (a fiesta of ideas) in Paloc-Sool elementary school in Dumangas, we have extended our gifts of encouragement through life impact seminars working in collaboration with Courtyard in Iloilo (GM Cleofe Albiso) and her team of Marriott volunteers.

Consequently, we have opened up a new conversation both within our Oikos missionaries as well as communities leaders in Iloilo on how workplace productivity can be understood and operationalised for the common good.

We have not been able to hit our target of 600 scholarships worth $31,000 SGD but were able to raise around 75% of that amount to invest in educational experiences for the elementary and high-schoolers under OATH (113 students in total).

Noted are the multi-site representation across the Oikosian universe from Papaac in the north via Corine, to Davao Delnorte in the south via Krystle including visits to Binalbagan in Negros and Songculan in Bohol by the sent ones from Singapore, Ps PohLin, Ps MinAun, Ps Emily and Sis YiHui in the first wave joined by Bro Han & Sherrie in the 2nd wave.
