DRAW ME CLOSER – Patience and Gentleness

Turn the hearts of Fathers, Lord you do not forsake your saints – let your spirit reign in us. Temper our temper. Don’t let the enemies of my life and family triumph over me through my weaknesses. Strengthen me as only you can.

“Great is the Lord who delights in the welfare of his servant.”

Romans 8:1-30 – There is NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST. Spirit lead me into Your peace. Christ lives in me. The Spirit makes me right with God. He gives life to my mortal body. We have no obligation to follow our fleshly desires and appetites.

TEACH US to be skillful to put to death the deeds of the flesh. For we are God’s children. SONS of the most high. Heirs in glory (His kingdom and righteousness) AND suffering (to overcome the evil temptations around us).

There is a sound of GROANING to let out – the Spirit intercedes within – for us Fathers who want to love their families and community but just find it so difficult to.

Romans 8:31-38 – “If God is for us, who can be against us?” We have overwhelming victory through the love of God in Christ Jesus in us.

“I don’t deserve it, I couldn’t earn it… still you gave yourself for me…chased me down…fought for me…searching in the darkness, mountain high, ocean deep, tearing down lies, breaking through all obstacles.. to find and overwhelm me with your love.”

1 Cor 13 – Love is patient, kind, rights all wrongs, perseveres, long suffering, never-ending. Fathers can only bear so much – but because of your love and gentleness – we can bear more and triumph through love in the end. Every hurt, transgression, wrongdoing, offense, adverse word of condemnation over us, be washed away.

2 Cor 6 – “For you are the temple of the Living God. I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God and they shall be my people”

Forgive offense today, forgive and bless our fathers, mothers, siblings, uncles, aunts, relatives, co-workers, bosses, and patiently seek their salvation.

Isa 53: Because you were broken for my healing – You are the Resurrection and the Life – we eat & drink of you today because we are a part of you.

Draw me nearer Blessed Lord.
